Halloween Fun
This Halloween was a lot busier than we've had before ... 5 events - and we even opted out of Addie's school trunk or treating. It was fun, but I'm tired. Here's a quick recap of all the fun we've had:
Friday night: Trev and I went to an adults only party with some friends from my ward. We're not big dresser-uppers so this was the best it got for us. Where's Waldo and his girlfriend Wanda. [One of us may be wearing a shirt belonging to the opposite gender. any guesses?]
My friend watched Addie and Ivy and they also got to dress up and go to her kids' school carnival. I didn't get a picture, but Addie was a cowgirl and Ivy was an Indian princess.
Saturday Night: Ward trunk or treating. That was a first for us - it was great! Addie was an Aggie cheerleader and Ivy was a ballerina.
Wednesday: Addie got to get all dressed up for her school party - so, of course, Ivy had to as well. Addie slept in a sock bun the night before, so she had BIG curls when we took it out. I told her she was a Texas Cowgirl. This little bumble bee is Addie's cute friend Ella - they're in the same church and school classes, so we get to see a lot of her!
Wednesday Night: After a quick costume change for Ivy (now she's Little Red Riding Hood) we went to a couple (really, just two) houses on our street while we waited for Trevor to get home. Then we went to a friend's house - different part of town - so the kiddos could trick or treat together. All the dad's took the kids out and the mom's stayed in the nice, warm house to visit and get treats. My kids are worn out ... it's now 8:30am and they're still sleeping. Happy Halloween!

Be sure to notice Ivy's "creepy" pose and Addie's vampire teeth she got at school - man she loves those things and you can't understand a word she's saying while she's wearing them.
Wednesday Afternoon: trick or treating at Trevor's work. They both thought they should change costumes for this, but luckily I talked them out of that. This was a lot of fun! Lots of employees kids came and just went cubical to cubical getting candy. Then they gave us pizza. I hope they treat us like this every time we visit!
Trevor had to finish up a little work after this, so the girls and I stopped to say hi to Pam on our way home ... but we had to hurry to get to our next party on time.

Fun with grandma
Janie stayed with us for three nights, and we tried to keep busy the whole time! Addie chose to go to the Denver Aquarium for her birthday. It was the first time we'd been there and it was great.
We went to a pumpkin patch...
Opened presents and ate cake! All the criteria for a great birthday!
addie's been asking for a birthday carrot cake for months. I thought that was kinda strange since I've never made a carrot cake. One trip to Costco this summer she saw their cakes and said that's exactly what she wanted ... so I was off the hook for making her cake this year! I did make a cake for her friend party because I'm not so sure most 5 and 6 year olds like carrot cake as much as Addie thinks she does. (By the way, it turns out it's not her favorite. She loved the frosting, but didn't like the cake too much.)
